Concept
About DHU STORIES:
A world where pop characters thrive... a universe inhabited by the whimsical gods of good and evil, gigantic beings who play at the whim of the universe's residents; a universe with various animals, spiritual creatures, pop characters, and other types of inhabitants... and a universe with many different territories.
And there are various territories, spaces, vehicles, plants, foods... that exist.
All the inhabitants of this particular DHU Universe can see that they are dressed using "pop characters" and the like... everyone is very grateful... Pop characters and actual characters are nothing more than old toys that have been used repeatedly, discolored, and bubbles coming out from the seams... Pop characters will be used as resources, clothing, and food in this DHU Universe... And they can be either real or taxidermied (disassembled pops).

BIO :
DHANI BARRRAGAN is an artist born in Marina de Aljarafe, Seville, Spain.

I have been interested in drawing since I was a child, spending hours creating original artwork and copying comic book illustrations like Spider-Man.

During adolescence, I began to take an interest in graffiti, and from there, I not only appreciated the works of the great graffiti artists of the time but also conducted extensive research on colors and shapes (early 2000s).

He was greatly influenced by and interested in graffiti but did not practice it deeply, prioritizing drawing on paper and even sketching during high school classes.

From this interest in drawing and painting, I began studying fine arts at the University of Seville from 2008 to 2013.

After graduating from university, I began to put the ideas I gained during my studies into practice. Based on what truly interested me in the art scene, I gradually established my own style.

Within vulgar art, I found a style that I truly love. Capturing pop culture characters, I express my message through comic scenes and polemics.

The idea of creating visually bright and seemingly friendly scenes while having a critical and dramatic background is his main motivation in his work, as he is always trying to capture critical and social messages.

He was very fascinated by anime where characters transform or physically change, such as Dragon Ball, Pokémon, and Transformers. These kinds of changes, transformations, and fusions were what initially attracted him, and he enjoys giving new forms to things already recognized in pop culture and adapting them within his works.

Technically, his style is lowbrow and pop surrealism, but this is because he understands it allows for completely free creativity to create scenes that can never be seen in other regions.

Pop culture characters are considered new symbolism for him. Previous artists subtly expressed something using certain elements, but it was only understood by those who knew the meaning of that symbology. Until now, artists have subtly expressed something using certain elements, but it was only understood by those who knew the meaning.

The characters he prefers to use in his works are mainly those he was most interested in as a child, such as Bugs Bunny, but he wants to expand his range by using any characters he likes and finds visually appealing.
