Introduction of OPAKE New Art Prints

"Addiction is not a disorder, but a gift. It's just a matter of learning how to use it."
Ed Warley, also known as OPAKE, has been fascinated by graffiti art since he was 13 years old. He was immediately captivated by the idea of creating large-scale artworks and having them viewed by the public for free.
OPAKE initially started with tagging experiments and later developed their work into murals incorporating elements of both calligraphy and illustration.
He is currently known for placing Glitch Mickey Mouse and the Pink Panther against a skull background, and for depicting widely beloved characters in new and exciting ways.
This unique style is described by OPAKE himself as a "collapse of pop culture." Having suffered from drug-induced psychosis, the main theme of his work is "madness." He creatively twists the infamous definition of madness—"doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results"—by repeatedly and subtly breaking his characters, expressing his own story of overcoming addiction.
OPKAE has spent most of his life battling addiction, but he is now drug-free and pouring his spirit into art. As he recovers, he began to reflect on what addiction means to him. He feels that art is not merely an illness but, when used properly, a blessing from heaven—and he realized it could become his own addiction. "In my opinion, anyone with such tendencies can easily abuse them, but if you can harness that ability well, it can be wonderful," he says.
